Mon Jan 10, 2022

We’re very excited to announce that Lauren Zoe Baker, an undergraduate researcher with the MInDS@Mines team, has been named an Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award Finalist by the Computing Research Association (CRA). Zoe has been working with our team since Fall of 2018, and has contributed to several different machine learning projects in her time here. She has been a co-author in six different publications as a part of the team.

According to the CRA’s website, their mission is to “to catalyze computing research by joining with industry, government, and academia.” They accomplish this mission “by leading the computing research community.” Through the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award, the CRA “recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding research potential in an area of computing research.”

Congratulations to Zoe for being named as a finalist! Zoe plans to pursue her PhD in Computer Science in the Fall, and to continue to contribute to computing research in the years to come.
