Lodewijk Brand has recently had his paper, “Joint High-Order Multi-Task Feature Learning to Predict the Progression of Alzheimer’s Disease,” accepted into the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) conference in 2018.

This research aims to intelligently combine multi-modal clinical data, gathered over-time through the ADNI, to accurately identify patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The proposed algorithm is designed to provide clinical researchers with a small set of genetic and brain-imaging features to provide verification for current, and future, clinical research.

This work, his first publication as a Mines graduate student, will be presented this September in Granada, Spain.
